This is the n-th crisis in the history of Budapest based companies that are "cutting costs", where "n" is too big a number. Bad management, bad strategic decisions and lay-offs happen when there is a bigger story behind. There is a huge information gap between companies and real-life people, and my story proves it perfectly.
We don't know what their "strategy" really is. They say one thing, but they cannot be trusted. If they ask something, that is a lie already.
I mean I would understand if some of the "cost-cutting-strategy" multinational companies would have a plan how to leave the country, without leaving a trace. There are a bunch of reasons that might be giving headache to them.
There is no GDP-growth in the economy for a very long time. Inflation is high. Also for a very long time. Stagflation rarely leads to happiness and growth. It leads to collapse way more often. Workforce wants more pay, or they will be absolutely unmotivated, unproductive and even less useful than they were since Covid. Companies cannot (and does not want to) pay more.
More and more companies are unable to see a cost-saving option, so a reason to employ Hungarians in Hungary because general price levels are nearing the core Western countries' price levels (high inflation), so the workforce wants to be paid near the core Western salaries. But there is very tiny chance they will ever be. And maybe some of the "centers" would not like to be near, when the workforce realizes they need to live a life without prospects, whithout a decent chance to buy a fucking flat ever, without a decent chance to have something in life.
There is a development curve to everything. Even to the presence of these very respected companies in the "cost-cutter" part of Europe.

There is something sad about being laid-off by a brainless Budapest SSC. It feels like you are thrown out from a spaceship somewhere in the vacuum, and you are just floating in that point where you were laid-off in timespace. You play episodes of your pathetic life when you were employed by this pathetic company, you replay your pathetic memories of "team events", daily "work" and a bunch of things that don't exist any more.
That fucking shit, your existence with that pathetic company, does not exist any more. Like you are in the vacuum of space, floating, not fucking moving anywhere while the planets, asteroids and all shit already changed positions. A lot of them you cannot even see. In other words: the state of affairs you feel you are linked to, does not exist any more.
The fact is that these workplaces are like train stations. No one stays there for a long time - in fact, normal taxpayer people want to flee these fucking places as soon as they can, and only second league losers remain in these workplaces for a longer time. I mean for more than 1 year.
But also there is the fact you cannot really go anywhere else in Hungary. Everything is in a fucking crisis, fucking unemployment rages everywhere. Of course it is not on the news. Of course they say there is a record high number of employed people and unemployment is record low... Maybe if they keep repeating this lie, it becomes true. Maybe.
But this question is still aching: What the fuck are these SSC companies doing in Hungary? What's the fucking point of them being here?
To employ somebody for half a year, then send him back to the fucking unemployment office? Do this with hundreds of people? Do this with thousands of people? Does this make them happy to see us like this? They came to create unemployment only.
Or their management mistakes are just "human mistakes"? Do they really have such untalented people in their management? How so? Are they or are they not the "market leaders of the fucking world"?? Are these lay-off punks leading in anything? Or all their company vision and mission is just wishful talking.
What they say they are: they just WISH they would be that, but they will never achieve their goals. Based on the "performance" that they show in this market, they are pathetic losers, not winners.
So you are floating in timespace, thinking about good times with your colleagues... Was there any good time with them?
-In that 6 months I spent there? No, man, there was nothing else but suffering.
I want to point out how the sub-managerial level employee hate each other in an SSC like this. When asked about this, they say they are competitive.
-No, man, it is below competitive.
It is filth, disgusting human hatred that they show, nothing else. They sabotage your learning, they sabotage your life, they shit on the table so that they can say it was you. What good things can I remember? That I needed to work for 4 people during the fucking summer? Not getting any recognition for this. Not even verbal.
Fuck you.
Your incompetent managers need to change a lot, that's all I can say. Then you are fucking barking about "employer branding" and shit like that. What are you talking about? You people are the darkest assholes in this motherfucker universe, how will you brand this?
Let me help you: "we have incompetent managers, we cannot see the forest for the trees, we only want temporary financial advantages from this poor country, then we will lay-off anyone we can because we love to see people suffering. By the way, we despise your country and its people, we just want higher bonuses for our snobbish managers, but for ourselves before anybody, and lower taxes and no consequences when it comes to firing you, we want to be able to ruin your life and hundreds of others as well, without any consequences, because, as we have already stated, we despise each and every one of you..."
The current situation is this: it is an employer's market, the managers and employers do whatever they want. And they want to see us suffering.
We as unemployed people should do 2 things: 1.survive, 2.prepare for a different situation.
I know the motherfucker cost-saver managers believe they can replace us with AI, and their bonuses will see unprecedented high while they don't need to work nothing (what they are doing nowadays is not work anyway). This belief could only be true if they remained managers forever. They won't. In fact, their time is over already, they just don't know it.
What if there was an AI system that is targeted to replace untalented managers. Even a computer could be more empathetic towards people that are working for them. A properly programmed AI is way more empathetic than today's managers. We don't need managers any more. Companies will realise they don't need managers any more.
We only need an empathetic AI that is not biased.
So why do we care about managers, workplaces, recruitment, trends, all that shit? Let AI take power. Even if it is worse than the avarage, it cannot be worse than today's "I-have-no-moral-boundaries" managers.
