Hungary went through an election day last Sunday. A toothless dictator, who lost the election and will be soon out of power after 16 years, but remains the major 'force' of the opposition, his main opponent winning super majority in the Parliament. Everyone who did not vote for the old idiot, was celebrating his fall during election night. Pure joy after 16 years - celebration approved.
And when you are sobering up from last night, you will realize it is Hungary - there is no joy in this country that lasts for more than 36 hours.
OK. There will be no more Friday bullshit speech of the idiotic PM each and every week on the radio at 7.30 am. That is a win for us.
The old PM held so called speeches every Friday on the radio, trying to explain his outrageous decisions that he lied to be the entire nation's decisions (they were not). At the end of his tenure, these Friday speeches turned into subject of laughter (among those not being a fan of him). It seemed that a pathetic idiot who was clinging to power, is making up stories that show him as a "savior" of everybody, because he thought this was the way Hungarians would vote for him and also he seemed to believe that the catastrophic state of the Hungarian economy remains unnoticed, and the whole series of bad government for 16 years remains without consequences.
These "Friday radio speeches" are one thing that will (most probably) disappear. 16 years and its practices will not evaporate immediately, though. Patience would be much needed. Yet patience is the one thing that many Hungarians are really bad at. That includes me.
The Friday radio speeches were about creating another reality - a reality, where there is a huge growth and no inflation in the economy, a fake reality, where the "hero PM" saves Hungary from everything and everybody that is coming outside and is bad, let it be inflation, negative growth or unemployment, that could only occur because of Brussels, because of the decline of the West or if we vote to anybody else but him. That was the 'storytelling'.
Radio speech was one of the media events the old idiot used to spread his idiotism. Any of these events created so much bullshit theories and so much bullshit explanations about the world, the EU, and the place of Hungary within the world, that we have enough to quote (when we want to laugh at the misery of Hungary) for several years, if not decades.
For example, a bullshit theory: The savior-of-Hungarians PM or its regime are not to blame for unemployment. In fact, unemployment does not exist. There is "full employment". Because whoever wants to work, he or she will find a job - only the lazy people who do not want to work, are without a job. But this is their fault, not ours, so it is not real unemployment. There is "full employment" that we created and protected. We protected the "full employment" of Hugarians.
All I can say is: WE LIVE IN A DIFFERENT REALITY, PAL.
So there were parallel universes - one that the regime and its believers lived in, and another one that 'the less fortunate' lived in. It is really surprising they could build up a closed universe for themselves, based on lies. Well, 16 years might be enough time for this.
In the universe where the less fortunate are living in, there is real unemployement. What's more, unemployment is at its 10-year high, and inflation is considerable. It does not cool down since 2022. That is called stagflation. There is real stagflation still in that fucking universe. I would not care, but that one is the one I need to live in.
Unemployment in this universe rose to a 10-year high, just before the election of 2026. Maybe it has something to do with the epic fall of the government last Sunday. Maybe.
Unemployment is a key topic in this country. It is so strong a topic, you don't even need to talk about it. Politicians obey to this rule, they don't speak about it, they deny everything, they fill the information space with lies, then they go for election day in this complete denial and ignorance, and they loose big.
In this 'universe for the less fortunate', politicians are unable to learn from anything. They let the unemployment rise, then loose big time at the elections, and they fail to understand anything from it.
All that it tells us is that in the 'rich universe', the one for those who never heard about unemployment, you don't really need to care about anyting, you don't need to think - the government cares for your employment, gives you money, without real work, without any work, you are paid in that universe based something else, not on your performance, probably based on your loyalty to those in power. You don't need to think either because the PM knows everything about the world, he always knows better, so he will provide the solution. You don't need to think. All you need to do is to vote for him, and beget children of course.
I don't wanna live in that 'fortunate' universe.
I have read 1984 from Orwell. I know what it means when they ask you to stop thinking because there is someone else who will do the thinking instead of you. It means you are Winston. It means you are fucked.
So I am very fucking 'curious' what happens when those 2 universes collide (please feel the irony). What happens when the 'universe for the rich' who deny everything, who fail to understand anything, who do not have any more ties to the reality - to the reality we, everyday people are living in.
I see there is unemployment. I have seen queues of unemployed people at the govt office. I know it exists. I know there is no such thing as 'full employment', not in this country, not on Earth.
When you are living in a controlled reality, 2 + 2 might equal 5 or 4. You don't know. Because thinking is done by the Big Brother, not you, and he did not express his opinion on that.
Now there is no Big Brother that tells you. So I know. I know better what I see, and that is a fucking series of really bad mistakes that Big Brother committed. Down with Big Brother.
